Wonder Looper was founded by industry veterans Risa Saito and Bazad Trinos of Naked & Famous denim (among other projects). With a focus on knitwear, they produce some of the best contemporary cotton knits on the market, manufacturing all of their products entirely in Japan from start to finish. Their pieces are a stellar blend of interesting, unique fabrics and high quality vintage construction details, with excellent fits that lean more true-to-size for Western audiences as well.

The Wonder Looper Pullover Hoodie is arguably the final and most "elevated" basic hoodie that can be produced. Visually simple, just about every detail has been considered: the shoulders are raglan, to ensure a perfect fit on the widest range of different builds, with ribbed knit hem, cuffs, and side panels for maximum comfort. The front features a single kangaroo handwarmer pocket, and the hood includes a heavy woven drawstring, as would be expected. This newest batch has been finished with a rinse to account for any initial shrinkage, so they fit a little more snug that previous runs.

Wonder Looper's new Super Looper French Terry is an exceptionally plush and unique 100% cotton terry, clocking in at a respectable 446gsm (or 13.2oz per square yard), it's substantial and thick without being stiff or scratchy. Knit up on Tsuriami loopwheel machines in Wakayama, Japan, it has a smooth, dense exterior and a highly textured interior — traditional French terry cloth features evenly-sized loops on the reverse side, but Wonder Looper's Super Looper uses a "random" variated loop size, creating an extremely plush, luxurious, dry hand that feels cool and wicks moisture.

It's finished with flat seam construction for a clean exterior and increased longevity, and sewn up with tonal thread to not overcomplicate an already classic design. The fit is athletic, neither loose nor slim — with a slightly extended torso and a "natural" cut that sits close to the body without ever feeling snug or restrictive, leaving plenty of room to move.
