The Process

This DIY Rucksack / Backpack Kit is a step up from our other Kits. It is suitable for all, though it is more challenging and takes longer to craft. 

This is a perfect DIY bag making kit to expand your knowledge and skills in leather work and bag making. It arrives complete with everything you need to make your own luxury leather bag at home. 

Have fun learning the basics of leather craft (for accessories), with introduction to techniques including: application of wax and edge finishing, screw rivets, hand stitching on leather, and bag construction. Simply follow the included step-by-step instructions to craft your own leather rucksack / backpack. And, most importantly, enjoy the process. 

Inside your kit, you will find pre-cut leather pieces which require you to finish with a wax (included). You will rivet and sew the leather to complete your rucksack / backpack. 

If you have a small flat head screwdriver, this will be helpful for hand tightening the rivets. 

To make the kit suitable for home construction, some work has been done for you. Don’t worry though, there is still plenty left for you to turn your creative energy to. 

The Bag

The rucksack / backpack has a flap and buckle closure and two adjustable back straps. It is a raw edge construction to give a rustic look and completed in a buttery soft vegetable-tanned leather which results in a supple but structured piece. 

It is unlined meaning you can enjoy the natural grain and quality of the beautiful Tuscan leather. There is one internal hanging pocket.

The size provides ample space for all your essentials.

The dimensions of the backpack / rucksack are H 250mm x W 350mm x D 150mm, and it will be the same construction as the bag in the product photos.
